Well i typed the ISBN into the search but all im getting is the same book, same edition however the copyright year is different. Does this matter? |||If it is the same edition then the book is probably a reprint of the same book.
I'm assuming that you're trying to order a text book online. If at all possible I would email your professor for that class and make sure that you're getting the right book. Text book companies will often make minor changes to text books just so they can get students to buy new books. They make money that way!
Chances are your professor has an opinion on this, whether or not you can use different editions, etc. so I would check if at all possible before you buy something that will be a hassle to return.
however, if that's not possible then I would assume that the same edition means the same book. It is probably just a reprint.
